Situated in Chiriquí province, Playa Grande is just 70 miles from the Costa Rican border and 40 miles from David, the country’s second most populous city. By the end of 2007, international service will begin at the nearby David airport (see sidebar) with weekly direct flights from Miami. The airport’s expansion will bring Playa Grande within easy reach of the U.S. and Canada.   The site is reached by the well serviced Pan-American Highway and a connector road, which leads directly to the site and is currently being paved.

Jutting into the Pacific Ocean in the western Panama province of Chiriquí, the 1,223-acre (495-hectare) Playa Grande property has four natural beaches totaling over 7,000 linear feet (2,100 meters), along with an ideal site for a deepwater marina. The marina site opens onto the Gulf of Chiriquí, already well known as a boutique destination for deep sea fishing opportunities.

Moving inland, the topography yields three high ridges with spectacular ocean views yielding the potential for a large scale residential component with the majority of land connected visually to the island studded Pacific.  Extensive tropical vegetation abounds, as well as extensive water resources.  A preliminary golf course routing has also been determined to amenitize the site’s valleys and back country.
While remote and pristine future development will have access to a local workforce living or relocating to the quaint local village of Horconcitos and Boca Chica, as well as the resources of David.

To provide the complete Panama experience, a hot-springs property is now being acquired in an area 40 minutes away from Playa Grande.

Applied Development and RCLCO toured all of the available large development sites on the Pacific and Caribbean coast of Panama, and Playa Grande is by far the most beautiful and has the greatest development potential.
